account of the sometimes controversial,
always fascinating Christopher Columbus,
and a host of colorful characters
connected with his First Voyage to the
New World, across the "Ocean
Sea". Extensive research
went into this play, making it as
historically accurate as it is funny.
There’s something for every grade
level here; but, of course, the more you
already know about Columbus, the funnier
this play will be! It’s sure to spark
kids’ interest in the study of history…and
guaranteed to leave everyone howling
with laughter!

originally created CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS in 1991 for
the ’92 Quincentennial. Between September ’91 and December ’92, we
gave over 325 performances of this play. In 1996, in answer to popular
demand, we brought this show back—and in 1997 we gave it a brand-new,
larger, more colorful set and some spectacular new costumes. It
became an annual October event!
